Dosbarth Melyn

My name is Vicky Thomas and I am the Reception Class Teacher. I work alongside Mrs Parsley, Miss Jones, Miss Ayres and Miss Roberts and together we make a fantastic team!

Early years education is where my heart is, where laying the foundations for children's future learning holds great importance. In Dosbarth Melyn, we aim to create a safe and happy environment with motivating and enjoyable learning experiences that enable children to become confident and independent learners. 

Each term we change our theme and our environment is enhanced to engage children and encourage them to learn and explore.

Our PE days are on Thursdays. Children must come to school on this day in shoes that they can take off, put on and fasten themselves in order for them to be as independent as possible. Children are welcome to wear their PE kit on this day.

We enjoy exploring the outdoors regularly, so we encourage wellies or old trainers to be kept in school.

In Dosbarth Melyn we have our snack together in the morning. We are a Healthy School so children are offered milk or can provide their own water in a named bottle.
