At Monkton Nursery we aim to provide a firm foundation for learning and support children in developing lifelong skills and qualities in a caring, nurturing, happy and stimulating setting. Where children can feel physically and emotionally safe.

In Nursery we want children to make friends as they play and explore. We want to share stories and teach them new songs. We want to see them grow and develop their confidence and independence. We want children to learn and care for and respect themselves and other. Mostly we want to give them lots of wonderful experiences that help them learn as they play and have fun. 

In Nursery children are free to chose from a variety of activities each day. The activities are planned according to the children's interests. As teachers we plan and enhance all areas of the classroom to provide exciting learning opportunities that are appropriately matched to each child's need and abilities.

Working closely with parents and carers as your child's learning and achievement is something we should all be part of. Laying the foundations for their future together.
